Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, is set to feature in the upcoming Zambian drama The Family Affair, bringing one of Africa’s recognisable screen personalities into a production that explores family relationships, betrayal and the fight to protect loved ones.
The film, produced by Basali Media in association with Kazadi Films, is scheduled to premiere on November 14, 2026, at Ster-Kinekor, Manda Hill, in Lusaka.
Directed by David Kazadi and written by Veronica Hachipuka, the production features Samantha M. Zulu in the role of Vanessa Milimo, a single mother diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer.
The story follows Vanessa as she confronts difficult circumstances and fights to protect her home and the future of her children, while facing challenges involving people closest to her.
Ozokwor appears in the film as Mama D, alongside a cast that includes Kondwani Elliott Zulu, Lee Nonde, Mwaka Mugala, Stella Sikana, Lorna Lemi and other Zambian actors.
The production brings together local talent and an internationally recognised actress, offering an opportunity to showcase Zambian storytelling to audiences at home and potentially beyond the country’s borders.

The film’s storyline touches on themes that many families can relate to, including the responsibility of caring for loved ones, the pressure of difficult circumstances and the importance of family support during challenging moments.
Ozokwor’s involvement is also expected to attract attention from audiences familiar with her work in Nollywood, where she has built a reputation through numerous film and television roles.
For the Zambian film industry, productions such as The Family Affair provide an opportunity to strengthen local filmmaking by bringing together writers, directors, actors and production teams to tell stories rooted in relatable experiences.
The November 14 premiere at Ster-Kinekor, Manda Hill, will provide the first opportunity for audiences to experience the film on the big screen.
With its combination of a familiar international actress, a Zambian cast and a story centred on family struggles, The Family Affair is shaping up to be one of the local film releases to watch this month.
