MAN, 35, JAILED 24 YRS FOR RAPING WIFE’S SISTER
A 35-year-old man of Nyimba has been sentenced to 24 years imprisonments with hard labour for raping his wife’s younger sister.
Martin Chawala raped his sister-in-law at the field after telling her that he had been admiring her for a long time.
Particulars of the offence are that Chawala, who appeared for sentencing before High Court Judge Situmbeko Chocho, on February 4, 2022 raped a woman in Nyimba.
During trial, the victim said on February 4, 2022, she went to visit her older sister at her field but only found her brother-in-law, who told her that his wife had gone to the hospital.
“After discussing with him I immediately started walking to my field, and then he grabbed me by my shoulder and told me that he had been salivating and admiring me for a long time,” she said.
