OFFICERS from Kabwata Police Station in Lusaka have arrested and detained 28-year-old Alex Phiri for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old juvenile of Misisi compound in Lusaka.

The matter was reported by Langson Banda, Lloyd Mulenshi and Felix Phiri, all of Misisi compound, indicating that the incident happened on 2nd January, 2024 around 11:00 hours in Kamwala area.

Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, explains that the trio who reported the case were on their way to Kamwala to collect money from a colleague.

It is alleged that when they reached at a named church in Kamwala, they saw a naked man near the wall fence having canal knowledge in the nearby grass with a girl who was screaming.

Hamoonga says when the trio moved closer, they discovered that the girl was lying on the man’s clothes which he had spread on the ground, hence apprehending him and took him to the Police.

The trio later apprehended the suspect and took him to the police.

He says a docket of case has been opened and a medical report form was issued to the victim, who has since been handed over to her parents.
