THE love of beer has cost a woman of Garden House her marriage of 16 years.

Mavis Chilove, aged 35, was ditched by her husband, Dominic Mbewe, 44, who said he could not continue living with a woman whose love of beer is uncontrollable.

Mbewe told the court that he has tried everything possible to counsel his wife to stop drinking beer but she can’t change.

“Problems in our marriage started in 2012 when I lost employment. Later I started working for Food Lover’s, where I was getting K1,000. Survival became a challenge. “In 2015 she started drinking beer.
