The Monze Urban Local Court has ordered a man from Lusaka to pay his girlfriend’s father K14, 950 after he impregnated her in 2020 and only paid K50 for causing the pregnancy.

Byta FM Monze Court Journalist reports that Sebastian Mwiinga of Nchete Compound sued Sunford Habeenzu of Lusaka’s Chalala Area for impregnanting his daughter, hence demanding K14, 950 as compensation.

Mwiinga tells the court that he met with Habeenzu and his family in 2020 to negotiate charges for damages where they agreed and signed that Habeenzu would pay K15, 000, but complains that only K50 has been paid to date.

Habeenzu admits to impregnating Mwiinga’s daughter and subsequently agreeing to pay him K15, 000 for causing the pregnancy.

He, however says he has since lost his job and has an open court case in Lusaka, therefore requesting Mwiinga to allow him resolve his problems before resuming payment.

Senior Local Magistrate Hellen Moonga ordered Habeenzu to pay Mwiinga K14, 950 in monthly instalments of K300, starting with an initial payment of K1, 000 on the 31st of March, 2022.
