THE Mazabuka Magistrate Court has fined a Financial Officer at named money lending institution K15, 000 for having an affair with a married woman.

Oliver Masaka aged 34, a Driver at Chainama Hospital in Lusaka sued Tendai Muleya (Financial Officer) for committing adultery with his wife Diana Nalupya, an officer at the Mazabuka Correctional Facility.

Byta FM Zambia Mazabuka Court Beat Journalist reports that when the matter came up for hearing, Masaka demanded for K40, 000 from Muleya for destroying his marriage by having an extra marital affair with his wife.

The complainant narrated that the two were drinking beer and dancing together at Mazabuka’s “Kabwata” (street with bars between Mgubuddu and the Prisons) around 20:00 hours and 22:00 Hours.

He added that he later traced them as they drove to Muleya’s house in Nakambala compound, where they spent a night together.

Masaka also told the court that the defendant drives his wife car and parks it at his work place at NAPSA building.

In his defense, Muleya denied having an affair with Nalupya but admitted driving her car, saying that he was engaged by Correctional Officer to be driving her.

Nalupya equally denied committing adultery with Muleya saying that he was just a friend she drinks with.

In delivering judgement Mazabuka Local court Resident Magistrate, Regent Zandu fined Muleya K15, 000 for marriage interference.
