Kantu Habanji Siachingili was born on 5th April 1990 in a Family of 6, 2 men and 4 ladies in Lusaka.

Kantu did her Primary school at Adastra Primary school in Choma and secondary school at Hillcrest Technical School in Livingstone where she studied with fellow female singers Judy Yo and Wacheda.
Kantu studied at the university of Zambia in 2009 where she obtained a bachelors degree in Art with education(Geography major and History minor). She also holds a masters degree in Environmental and Natural resource management.

She came first onto Zambian Scene when she was featured on slap dee track called Remember and since then she has been soaring.

According to kantu, she was inspired by her family to do music and also in her own words was inspired by American RnB singer Brandy.

Kantu is married to Michael Phiri who is a lecturer at the university of Zambia, the couple announced their engagement last year in April during kantu’s birthday then months later the two tied the Knott.
Away from Music, Kantu is also a lecturer at university of Zambia, ambassador of V campaign and activist of Health care and well being in Human rights.

Kantu has had a fair share of challenges and setbacks in her music journey with the controversial one being the time she collapsed in Jesmondine area of Lusaka, some good Samaritans took her to Teba medical Centre and it was later announced that she had consumed Arsenic poison from beverages she took during the house party she attended the previous day.(this was after the Doctor ran some tests on her)
Kantu did not allow these challenges to stop her from pursuing her goals and Dreams therefore she is a good example of people who have not given up education for their talent.
