Zambia’s leading Telenovela Mpali has been nominated in the ninth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) .

The Frank Sibuuku created show has been nominated under the Best Original Telenovela for this year’s awards to be held in Nigeria on 20th May 2023.

Sibuuku is confident that the Production will win the prestigious award judging from how the show has performed this far.

Mpali is now recording the sixth successful season yet the storyline seems fresh and appealing every passing day.

“ We have won several local awards and I am very confident that we are winning this one,” Frank said amid cheers.

He was speaking today when Information and Media Permanent Secretary Kennedy Kalunga, in the company of MultiChoice Zambia Managing Director Leah Kooma, conducted a familiarization tour of Mpali production site to acquaint himself with the production of Mpali.
The familiarisation tour is part of MultiChoice Zambia hyper local strategy that is focused on bringing out the stories from behind the scenes further entrenching enriching lives narrative.
Speaking after the tour, Mr Kalunga said government is impressed with the production levels of Mpali that has seen more than 100 direct and indirect jobs created.

“What you are doing here is part of the job policy which is in the decentralisation policy what you are using here has been provided by Zambians, meaning you are giving business to a fellow Zambians and promoting job creation, “ He said.

Leah Kooma, Managing Director, MultiChoice Zambia said ist was delightful to continue working with the local crew in producing content that is relevant and resonating well with Zambians.

“We have seen value chain that has been created because there are so many people who have been empowered in Mpali production and jobs have been created,” she said

Ms Kooma also made an appeal to the viewers to continue supporting the production through paying subscription.
Meanwhile, Sibuuku ended by pouring out words of gratitude to especially MultiChoice saying, “I would like to thank MultiChoice and Zambezi Magic for providing us with the platform to tell our stories”.
