By Justine Akakulubelwa
Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says the holistic approach taken by Brethren in Christ Church – BICC in its ministry, has greatly helped the government in the delivery of quality education.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says besides ministering the Gospel and investing in the education sector, the Church has also been playing a crucial role in research, humanitarian ministry and economic empowerment programmes.
This is contained in a speech read on her behalf by Southern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, YOLANTA MUTYAMBE, at the Jubilee Celebration of Macha Girls Secondary School.
And Mrs. NALUMANGO has commended the teaching staff at Macha Girls Secondary School for ensuring that the school remained one of the best academically performing schools in the country.
The Vice President has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing quality education for all, through the free education policy as well as partnering with the Church to enhance the education sector.
Speaking at the same event, BICC Zambia Conference Bishop, CHARLES NSEEMANI, said the school will always strive for academic excellence while imparting spiritual and moral enlightenment in its learners.
Bishop NSEEMANI says because of enhanced spiritual and moral guidance, the school has not recorded any teen pregnancies and early marriages in the last two years.
Meanwhile, Macha Girls Alumni Chairperson, ADISA LUNGU, has challenged all former pupils to plough back to the school.
Ms. LUNGU made the challenge when she handed a 50,000 Kwacha cheque from the Alumni to the school, for the purchase of mattresses.
