One person has died on the spot in Lundazi District following a Fatal Road Traffic Accident involving a bus belonging to Mwekache transport company.

The incident occurred on Sunday around 19:30 hours along Dingiswayo road near Rubis filling station within Lundazi boma.
Involved were two unknown pedestrians, one died on the spot after sustaining head injuries while the second one ran away with unknown injuries.

Also involved was a bus belonging to Mwekache transport company which was being driven by the driver (bus conductor) Joe Sakala of Mtendere compound in Lusaka from the bus station to Rubis filling station for refueling.

Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Limpo Liywalii says the bus conductor is on the run with unknown injuries while the bus is impounded and parked at Lundazi police station awaiting examinations.

Mr. Liywalii told Breeze FM News that the accident happened when Sakala, due to inexperience, failed to control the motor vehicle and, in the process, hit on the two pedestrians who were walking off the road going in the same direction with the Motor vehicle.
