POLICE have recovered a motor vehicle which was stolen by a lone criminal who smashed the driver’s window before getting in the car and speeding off.

It is reported that the criminal attacked a female passenger who was alone in the vehicle – grabbing her by the neck before she managed to open the passenger door and escaped.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says that the driver of the vehicle escorted one of two passenger to her house, leaving behind the other passenger in the vehicle with the car keys in the ignition.

He tells Byta FM Zambia News that it was at this point that the vehicle was stolen, noting that the incident occurred on Friday at around 01:00 hours in Libala South.

Hamoonga adds that the vehicle was a grey Toyota Spacio valued at K65,000, belonging to Thomas Matandaba of Palabana.
