President HICHILEMA meets Mine Suppliers, Contractors

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says the unlocking of the mining sector provides an opportunity for local players through partnering with foreign investors to participate in growing the Zambian economy.

President HICHILEMA has however urged local contractors and suppliers to improve on the quality of their services and products if they need to benefit from the revival of the mining sector.

He was speaking at a meeting with Mine Suppliers and Contractors in Mufulira on the Copperbelt.

And Mine Suppliers and Contractors President COSTA MWABA thanked President HICHILEMA for unlocking Mopani Copper Mines and reviving the Luanshya Copper Mine on the Copperbelt.

He said the revamping of mining activities means more opportunities will come for local players in the mining sector.

Earlier, Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister CHIPOKA MULENGA said the local content policy will become active by the end of this month.
