SIX MEN GÃNG RÃPE WOMAN KUMA 04 AFTER HEAVY DRINK UP WITH HUBBY

A 27-year-old woman of Kashitu Compound in Livingstone has allegedly been gang raped by six males, thereby sustaining a painful private part and neck.

The Victim (name withheld) reported the incident to Dambwa North Police Post on 1st January, 2024, around 05:00 hours, about 50 minutes following the ordeal at Indeco Market.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, explains that on 31st December, 2023, around 13:00 hours, the victim, in the company of her husband, went to Indeco Market within Kashitu Compound to drink beer.

Daka says the couple were at the drinking place until around 04:00 hours when they decided to get back home, accompanied by the young brother to the victim who was also relaxing at the same drinking place.

He narrates that while on the way, the victim was pushed to the ground by an unknown male person, who took one of her foot-wear and threw it in the opposite direction.

Daka says whilst the victim was pursuing to retrieve foot-wear, her husband decided to leave her in the company of the young brother hoping the two were going to find him home.

The Police Commissioner notes that it was in the process of searching for her foot-wear when two male persons she can identify if seen pulled her to the side street and were joined by four others taking turns to rape her.

Daka states that the young brother tried to intervene but was restrained and beaten in the process, while the victim also tried to scream for help, but a few people from the nearby homes who rushed to the scene could not come in time.

He says after the men had left, the victim gathered herself up and went home to change clothes before she reported the matter at Dambwa Central Police post.

Police Officers visited the scene and found some struggle marks, with the victim also handing over a white t-shirt, a pink and white trouser and a white female underwear stained with blood which she wore at the time of the incident, while no suspect has been arrested.
