A Road Traffic Accident has been recorded along Chirundu-Kafue Road in Kapilingozi Hills involving six individuals and vehicles.
Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, tells Byta FM Zambia that the accident occurred when one of the drivers, Joe Hansi aged 48, of City Frontier Transport Ndola who was driving an east bound Sino Howo truck failed to keep to his lane and hit into five other vehicles which were in the queue.
Hansi, whose vehicle was laden with copper cathodes sustained minor injuries, with the horse extensively damaged while the minerals spread on the road.
Hamoonga has identified another victim in the accident as Peter Zulu aged 39 of Chirundu Police Station who was driving a west bound Toyota Axio and sustained general body pains, with his motor vehicle extensively damaged.
He adds that three juveniles aged three, five and twelve who were passengers on a Toyota Axio sustained serious body injuries.
And Mutavesu Henry, 33, a Resident of South Africa who had parked his Volvo truck vehicle, sustained painful waist, while the front part of the horse was extensively damaged.
Hamoonga adds that Naomi Lusambo, 30, of Kanyelele Compound in Siavonga who was driving a Toyota Vitz heading to the west direction escaped unhurt but her passenger, Sherry Mwale, 20, sustained a big cut on the forehead.
Meanwhile, Jackson Siabasimbi, 32, of Chirundu who was driving a Mitsubishi Canter escaped unhurt but had his motor vehicle damaged on the right side of the trailer.
Another victim, Shepherd Chinyama, a Zimbabwean National aged 34, who was driving a Scania truck escaped unhurt but had his three tyres from the right side his trailer damaged.
Hamoonga notes that all victims who sustained serious injuries were rushed are admitted at Mutendere Mission Hospital in Chirundu District.
