He says despite not qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games the focus will be to go back home and prepare for the African games.

Meanwhile, Elvis Bwalya coach for the men’s team says the boys played well. He adds the win will motivate the boys to perform better next time and have something to talk about when home.

Bwalya indicated that the weather somehow contributed to the team not performing well.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day the women’s team in their last game lost to Namibia 3-0.

Floyd Chomba women’s hockey national team coach thanked everyone who has supported the teams from the word go. He has paid gratitude to the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, National Olympic Committee of Zambia, Cavendish University, OYDC Zambia, Ambi and National Sports Council of Zambia.

The men have come out number seven out of eight teams while the women have come out number six
out of seven teams.
