A man believed to be an Egyptian has disappeared after a Zambia Immigration Officer requested him to show his immigration status.
The man who has not been identified yet, immediately ran away—leaving behind his car which had carpets and other household items.

This happened at the residence of the immigration officer in Lusaka.
Immigration Department Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka has confirmed this in a statement stating that the department has observed a rise in the number of illegal immigrants.
The department is further calling on the public to report any illegal immigrant in the country.
