A FORTY-year old woman of Mpika woke up to a traumatising shock after finding her dearly beloved husband hang lifeless from a window burglar bar with an adapter cable tied around his neck.

It is reported that prior to the incident, on September 25, 2022, Dora Nambela, a resident of New town area, left her husband April Simuchile aged 47, a head teacher at Kampamba Primary School, in the sitting room to go and sleep.

But around 04:00 hours yesterday, she noticed that her better half was not on the other side of the bed so she went to check up on him.

While conducting the search in the house, Nambela found the spare bedroom was locked from inside and then called for the neighbours who managed to break the padlock.

When they finally got access of room, Namvela entered the room to only find her husband hanging from the burglar bar of the bedroom window with an extension cable round his neck.

The matter was later reported at Mpika Police Station on September 26 at 05:30 hrs where it was confirmed that the incident occured between 02 to 04 hours on Monday.

Acting on the report, officers visited the scene and found the body in a kneeling position still hanging on the bedroom window with an extension cable in the neck.

According to police no physical injuries were seen and the body was intact but an inquiry file has been opened.

Muchinga Police commanding officer Lucky Munkondya confirmed the incident.

Munkondya said the body of the deceased has since been taken to Mpika Urban Clinic Mortuary.
