Musician Mwiza Zulu’s ‘What a Shame’ lyrics come alive in court.

In 2018, Mwiza Zulu, daughter of Reggae star Maiko Zulu released a single titled ‘What a Shame’.
Mwiza told the Zambia Daily Mail that “What a shame is a lamentation of a young girl who was defiled and made pregnant by her father. So, the young girl is asking what she will call the child fathered by her biological father,”.
Just like the musicians song, a 17-year-old girl of Linda Township last week appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court to testify against her biological father who had allegedly repeatedly been molesting her until she fell pregnant.
The victim has a child with his father, who has been slapped with an incest charge, an offence he denies committing.
After falling pregnant for her 49-year-old father who started defiling her at age eight, the victim recently informed her relatives about the scandal, which her mother is reported to have been concealing.
Rodrick Nyambe, a farmer of Linda Township, Lusaka was last year arrested and charged for the suspect offence he now has to answer to.
Between January 1, 2013 and December last year, Nyambe allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter without her consent.
It is alleged that the accused started abusing his daughter when she was eight years old each time her mother was away from home.
