CHOONGO West Ward Councilor in Monze, Brian Habamba, is suggesting that Medical Facilities demand for a Police Report before attending to pregnant juveniles if teenage pregnancies are to reduce.

Habamba feels if that were the case, it would instill some restraint in young people to avoid illicit sexual activities knowing that they have to explain themselves to Police if a pregnancy was to occur.

He strikes a comparison to assault cases which require one to present a Police Report at a Medical Facility, stating that the benchmark must be used to deal with cases of teenage pregnancies.

Meanwhile, Monze District Commissioner, Mwanza Malambo, has called on Village Headmen to desist from handling criminal cases without Police assistance.

He has also urged them to avoid accepting bribes from offenders to ensure that justice prevails in whatever case it could be.
