The Board, Management, and Staff of Trade Kings Group would like to congratulate Mr. Richard Lubinda, a committed and loyal member of our team, for his admission to the bar as an Advocate of the High Court in Zambia. As a business we share his success and take great pride in his accomplishment.

Mr. Lubinda’s time with the business is an inspirational story of ambition, loyalty, determination, work ethic and it intertwined with the very fabric and history of the Trade Kings Group of company. It is only through staff such as Mr. Lubinda and tireless commitment and passion of those that make up the teams of the Trade Kings Group family that our company endures and continues to grow.

Richard joined the Trade Kings family as a casual worker in 1995 during the company’s inception, after which he qualified for a permanent role as Section Packer largely due to his excellent work ethic.

From this role he worked his way up to the Processing Department as a Paste Maker where he was also responsible for the Dispatch Section and held further responsibility multi-tasking to assist in light market research.

At the end of 1995, due to ever rising market demand for Boom, he successfully led the creation of a second shift driving production and increasing supply.

In 1997, through Trade Kings’ Staff Development Programme, Richard pursued a marketing program and acquired a Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). By 2002, he further acquired a Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Zambia (UNZA) after which he was promoted to the position of Production Manager – Paste Plant.

With a marketing qualification under his belt, Richard was tasked to lead the National Boom Millionaire Competition which ran for one and half years, after which he reverted to his production management role.

After that he was reassigned to lead the launch of Ama Sip Sip Maheu and Shake N Sip as well to assist with marketing activities at subsidiaries such as Swissbake and Bigtree Brands for a year; Richard retained this role until a full-fledged Marketing Department had been established.

As the business grew, the need for a Legal team arose and gave him the impetus to pursue a Legal degree and accreditation with the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education in 2018. In addition to qualifying as an HR practitioner with Zambia institute of Human Resource Management. Owing, again, to hard work and consistency, he has managed to acquire the accreditation as an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia and is currently a candidate in LLM Corporate and Commercial at the Zambia Center for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS).

When asked why he has served Trade Kings Group for all these years, Mr. Lubinda responded; “I have served for 26 years now and one of the main reasons for this has been Trade Kings’

accommodating work environment spearheaded by the business’ shareholders. For me, this means increased job security”.

Discussing his career plans he says; ‘going forward I intends to ensure that the legal department takes complete shape and gets practical extent of the legal requirements of the company’.

Trade Kings Group salutes your achievement Mr. Lubinda and remains resolute to improving lives, not only through our products and support but also for those that make up the Trade Kings Family.
