Unity, peace and harmony exhibited by ruling and opposition political parties in Luwingu win kudos

Republican vice president, Madam Mutale Nalumango is among many stakeholders that have commended the unity exhibited by various political leaders yesterday in Lukutu ward in Luwingu in Northern Province.

Yesterday during palm Sunday service, the political leaders from the UPND, PF and DP converged to pray together in a peaceful manner never experienced before, according to various stakeholders who have expressed hapiness that peace has returned in the new dawn government.

The vice president has since affirmed that the UPND will do everything it takes to maintain the peace and unity the country deserves.

“When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you. Opposition PF and DP with rulling UPND in one picture. Like we said, the party in power has what it takes to keep peace, we will do everything to walk it” Madam Nalumango wrote on her Facebook post.

Meanwhile, presidential spokesperson, Anthony Bwalya has also hailed the unity, adding that there can be no economic progress without peace and unity, especially among political adversaries.

“Zambians had asked for peace and unity ahead of anything else, and that is exactly what we have delivered.There shall be no departure from the commitments we made.Work with us” he has said.

PF presidential aspirant, Brian Mundubile who was among the politicians who attended the church service , also used the widely circulated picture with a quote saying “it is who we are as Africans; it is called ubuntu.Let us do it out of love, expecting no earthly reward. Like one famous African preacher always reminded us “Let love lead”.

Meanwhile, UPND women National Chairperson, Ms Doreen Mwamba has called for unity of purpose in the country, saying that is the only prerequisite for tangible national development.

She was speaking in Chisela’s Lukutu ward in Luwingu yesterday when she drumed up support for UPND candidate, Peter Chanda for this Thursday’s local government by-elections.

She said despite the unfortunate incident were a bridge was destroyed by suspected PF members in Lubansenshi, love should always be at the centre of everything in order to take the country forward.
