Unknown man steals car as he pretended to be a mechanics

A 50-year-old woman has had a vehicle stolen by an unknown man whom she allowed to fix her car after it developed a fault in Lusaka,Ring Road.

The victim identified as Margaret Mulenga while driving along the Ring road Lusaka, noticed that her vehicle developed a mechanical fault and decided to park on the roadside.

One unknown man came to offer help and soon after fixing the problem, he drove off leaving the victim standing by the roadside.

In comfirming the incident Police Deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale said investigations have been instituted in a case of Theft of Motor vehicles involving a mini Pajero registration number BAB 9506 and a Toyota Noah bearing registration number 6693.

Mwale stated the incident happened yesterday around 09:00 hours along the Ring road.

Meanwhile Police are also looking for a car wash worker who is alleged to have stolen a Toyota Noah registration number 6693 which was left at the car wash for washing.

“police initial investigations indicate that, Mwelwa Mukosha aged 40 left his vehicle for washing at a car wash where he found three people believed to be employees in whose custody the vehicle was left and walked back to his working place at waterfalls mall with a view of collecting the vehicle after knocking off,” Mwale stated

He said to Mukosha’s surprise, he did not find the vehicle at the cash wash as arranged.

Mwale said upon inquiring, he was told that one of the car wash workers had driven the vehicle to unknown destination shortly after the owner left it.

The incident occurred yesterday at waterfalls car wash located at waterfalls mall in lusaka.

Investigations are ongoing.
