Unruly Hone students banned from smoking

EVELYN Hone College Students’ Union (EHCOSU) has banned students from smoking in their rooms as a way of trying to control their unruly behaviour.

EHCOSU president Steven Mweene, in an interview, said most of the cases of delinquency which the Union has been handling involve people who drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes.

“I have banned students from smoking in the rooms, monk square and Lovers’ Park. All the cases we have been dealing with lately involve people that drink and smoke,” said Mweene.

“We have never had a scenario where people disagree and fight to the extent where one bleeds without alcohol being involved. “The students that are giving us problems are those that drink and smoke.”
