Witika Chileshe, a final year UNZA student in the School of Natural Sciences, has succumbed to Colon Cancer which he was battling with for the past three years.
Medication was a challenge for the double orphan who underwent surgery and started chemotherapy and radiotherapy in 2019 at CDH (UTH). Due to the illness, he had to withdraw from studies.
Last December, the doctors requested for a CT scan to be done and the results indicated that the cancer had progressed to the lungs.
Thereafter, doctors had to prescribe new medication for him.Unfortunately the drugs were not available at the hospital hence doctors suggested that the medication be bought.
Sadly, Chileshe has passed on to glory despite all the efforts doctors put in to cure the cancer.
