UPND ASPIRANT MOYO WARNS INDEPENDENT MP

United Party for National Development in Chasefu District, Eastern Province has urged Chasefu Independent Member of Parliament Misheck Nyambose to stop preaching that he has already been adopted by the ruling party.

UPND aspiring Member of Parliament Mabvuto Moyo told Chikaya Community Radio of Lundazi District in Eastern Province that the party has not adopted anyone so far.

Moyo condemned the act by the area Independent Member of Parliament, who claimed that the President has already adopted him on the party ticket in the forthcoming elections.

He said advising other aspiring candidates on the UPND ticket not to challenge him is against the constitution, as it confuses the electorate within party structures in the constituency.

Moyo stated that the UPND party has not yet adopted anyone, adding that the speech by the Independent Member of Parliament is disrespectful to other party members vying for the same seat, as they feel intimidated.

He appealed to the party leadership to ensure adoption procedures are followed for peace, unity, and respect for a better Zambia.

Moyo emphasised that the President has not adopted any single person, and no official announcement has been made.

He urged that people should not be misled by false claims, as the national leadership has not yet set the time for adoption of contesting candidates.
