UPND officials in Choma South have endorsed Joe Muchindu for Member of Parliament, saying his record on community development makes him the right candidate ahead of party adoptions.

The endorsement was announced during a meeting in Siaskabole Ward.

Officials said Muchindu has consistently responded to local needs and prioritises grassroots development.

“His desire for community development is clear. We believe he will deliver for Choma South,” one official said.

The officials cited Muchindu’s recent support for community-led interventions.

The backing adds to growing support from traditional leaders in Batoka and other wards as the ruling party prepares to adopt candidates for the 13 August 2026 general election.

In Siaskabole, party officials stated that it was time for Muchindu to serve the people having been left out on adoptions in previous elections.

Muchindu campaigned for current Choma member of parliament Cornelius Mweetwa when the ruling party adopted the information and media minister.

The community in Choma South have since appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND to adopt Muchindu ahead of the August 13th general elections.

Meanwhile, Muchindu has urged people to vote for President Hakainde Hichilema for continued national development.
