Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament Vincent Lilanda has described Byta FM radio as a critical pillar in Zambia’s democracy.
Lilanda visited the station to appreciate Byta FM’s role during the just-ended general elections.
“I have known this team for almost a decade. During the elections, you stood firm on professionalism, fairness and integrity even when the contest was tight,”Lilanda said.
The visit was welcomed by Byta FM Proprietor, Joe Pandwe, who said it was humbling for an elected leader to recognize the work of the media.
“It takes true leadership and humility to do this. We sincerely thank the Hon. Member for taking time to come here,” Pandwe, one of the country’s and Southern Province’ notable businessmen alias Senior Tamanga said.
Pandwe added that Byta FM remains committed to providing a platform for all voices in Mazabuka, regardless of political affiliation.
During the meeting, the station encouraged Lilanda to embrace all stakeholders in the constituency, including those with differing political views.
“We urged him to foster unity, love and progress in our community. Mazabuka needs all of us pulling in the same direction,” Pandwe said

Meanwhile, Lilanda assured the team that his door remains open to everyone as he undertakes the responsibility of serving the people of Mazabuka Central.
With his wealth of experience in public service and the support of institutions like Byta FM, Pandwe expressed confidence that the MP will deliver meaningful development for the people.
“With his experience and our continued support, we are confident that he will succeed in delivering for the people of Mazabuka,” he added.
