YOUTHS SHOULD UNITE BEHIND PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S VISION FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS – KAPEMBWA

A Copperbelt-based youth entrepreneur, Gift Kapembwa, has called on Zambians, particularly young people, to unite behind President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision for the next five years and contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.

Mr. Kapembwa who was commenting on the President’s inauguration speech as described it as comprehensive and forward-looking, saying it addressed key socio-economic sectors critical to Zambia’s development trajectory.

He said with the elections now concluded, Zambians should put partisan politics aside and place national interests above individual and political considerations.

“Elections are now behind us. It is time for all Zambians to unite, put national interests first and focus on building a better and more prosperous Zambia,” Mr. Kapembwa said.

He particularly urged young people to embrace and align themselves with the President’s developmental agenda, especially in areas such as education, energy, entrepreneurship, employment and social protection.

Mr. Kapembwa said youths have a critical role to play in driving economic growth, innovation and national development, and should therefore take advantage of opportunities created through government programmes and policies.

“The speech was all-encompassing. It addressed key development priorities and clearly outlined Zambia’s vision for the next five years and beyond. As youths, we must position ourselves to be active participants in this development journey,” he said.

Mr. Kapembwa further commended President Hichilema for what he described as focused and inclusive leadership, saying the President had extended an invitation to all Zambians to contribute to the country’s development regardless of their political affiliation.

He said the period ahead should be characterised by unity, hard work, innovation and collective responsibility as Zambia seeks to accelerate socio-economic development.
