The Zambia Police Service has announced immediate changes in command for the Copperbelt and Western Provinces, respectively.
Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi confirmed the transfers and new appointments.
Chilabi disclosed that Mwala Yuyi, who has been serving as commanding officer for Copperbelt Province, has been transferred to Zambia Police Service Headquarters in Lusaka, whilst Rae Hamoonga has been transferred from Western Province and appointed commanding officer for Copperbelt Province.
Chilabi said, in Western Province, Mubita Nawa has been transferred from the Zambia Police Training College and appointed Commanding Officer, taking over from. Hamoonga.
“The Zambia Police Service appreciates the continued cooperation and support of the media,” Chilabi added.
