Minister of Community Development and Social Services, Ms Doreen Mwamba, is leading the Zambian delegation, at the 68th Session of the Commission on Status of Women (CSW68), at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States.

The annual UN conference which is taking place from 11th – 22nd March 2024 is being held under the priority theme, “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective”.

The conference will among other pertinent issues, focus on developmental issues bordering on gender equality and women empowerment.

Ms Mwamba is expected to address the session and highlight Zambia’s progress in promoting gender equality and empowering women by addressing vulnerability.

The CSW68 has brought together Government officials, Civil Society Organisations, experts and activists from across the world to agree on actions and investments that can end women’s poverty and advance gender equality.
