Zambian Family Mourns Son Killed in Canadian School Shooting

A Zambian family based in Canada is mourning the tragic loss of their son, Abel Mwansa J., who was killed during a school shooting in British Columbia.
In an emotional statement, the child’s father, Abel Mwansa, shared the devastating news, saying;

“Our son went to school this morning and it happened that someone came to school with a gun, went to my kid’s classroom, shot some kids and my son was killed too just like that. Your mom, Shakainah, Jasail and I will greatly miss you Abel J.”

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 10th February 2026, when an armed suspect reportedly entered a high school and opened fire. Abel was among those who lost their lives during the attack.

Reports indicate that at least 10 people were killed, while about 25 others sustained injuries. Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is deceased.
