December 18, 2023 – Police in Chelstone have apprehended and detained Chifundo Soko aged 34 of Meanwood Kwamwena phase three for the offence of unlawful wounding involving his wife Katuka Oliya Yobe aged 30, who is receiving treatment at the Levy Mwanawansa Teaching Hospital. The incident occurred on December 17, 2023, around 01: 00 hours.

Police instituted investigations and recovered a knife and a metal bar, which are alleged to have been used to inflict the injuries. The victim sustained cuts on the face and a fractured right leg.

Brief facts of the matter are that the victim and her husband had a marital dispute, then the suspect started beating her and accused her of having an extra marital affair with a named person. Police visited the scene of crime and found a metal bar and knife with blood stains in the bathroom, corridor, and broken beer bottles in the kitchen.

A docket of case has been opened, and the suspect will soon appear in court.
