A 12-year- old boy of Nkonkola in Mazabuka District Southern Province has allegedly been murd£red by his friend after the two got involved in a fight.

According to police in Southern Province, Orment Moonga was assaulted by his friend Hasimbi Nchimunya also aged 12-years of Chivuna in Chief Hanjalika Chiefdom after picking a quarrel while playing.

It is believed that the accused hit the deceased with a stick on the head, causing a deep cut.

According to police, the now deceased was rushed to Chivuna clinic where he was admitted and later transferred to Mazabuka General Hospital and later to the University Teaching Hospital where he died from.

Postmortem has since been conducted on the deceased and revealed that the cause of death was severe head injury and fractured skull.

The deceased has since been put to rest in Konkola village of Chief Hanjalika’s Chiefdom while the suspect is being kept by the parents until the matter goes to court.
