PF Pamodzi Alliance leader and 2026 presidential candidate Makebi Zulu has raised concern over reports of a purported secret recruitment exercise within the Zambia Police Service, describing the development as “deeply concerning and unacceptable.”
In a statement addressed to “Fellow Zambians,” Zulu said recruitment into the police service has historically been conducted through transparent and publicly advertised processes that ensure equal opportunity for all eligible citizens. He warned that any departure from this standard undermines fairness, justice, and public trust in national institutions.
He further expressed disappointment that such alleged practices were emerging under a government that, according to him, came into office on a promise of transparency, accountability, and fairness in public service delivery.
“This is not just about recruitment, it is about justice, equality, and trust in public institutions,” he stated.
Zulu, speaking on behalf of the PF Pamodzi Alliance, pledged that such practices would be eliminated should his party form government following the August 2026 elections. He promised that all public sector recruitment processes would be openly advertised, merit-based, and accessible to all Zambians regardless of background, region, or affiliation.
He also assured that under his leadership there would be “no hidden databases, no backdoor recruitment, and no favoritism,” emphasizing a commitment to restoring integrity in public employment systems.
Calling for national unity, Zulu urged citizens to stand together in defending fairness and equal opportunity, adding that the future he envisions is one built on transparency, equity, and opportunity for all.
