UPND Media Director Mark Simuwe has withdrawn his intention to contest the newly created Makeni Constituency seat in the 13 August 2026 General Elections.
ISimuwe said the decision followed extensive consultations with party stakeholders and his support base.
“After reflecting on the consultations, I have resolved not to proceed with my aspiration to stand as a parliamentary candidate,” he said.
Simuwe said he would now focus on mobilising support for President Hakainde Hichilema and other UPND candidates ahead of the elections.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling party and pledged to work toward securing victory for the UPND in 2026.
