ACC POUNCES ON GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS

A Senior Planner at the Northern Provincial Planning Unit and a Lands Officer at the Ministry of Lands have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission-ACC for abuse of authority of office.

Titus Walima aged 44 of Mansa Town and Peter Chisanga, 38, of Kabwe, have been charged with one count of Abuse of Authority of Office contrary to the ACC Act Number 3 of 2012.

ACC Head-Corporate Communication, Timothy Moono, notes that Walima and Chisanga, on dates unknown but between 1st January and 16th October, 2016, did abuse the manner they selected some beneficiaries of a named property.

Moono states that the act was prejudicial to the rights or interests of the Government.
The duo has since been released on Bond and will appear in Court on 30th April, 2024.
