Chasefu North Independent Parliamentary Candidate Captain Towani Chipeta has urged the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) at the Chasefu District Electoral Office to avoid any temptation to recruit known ruling UPND cadres as poll staff.

In a media statement, Chipeta said that the Commission should safeguard the integrity of the electoral process by ensuring that only neutral and credible people are engaged.

She explained that any appearance of partisanship could weaken public confidence in the management of the election.

Chipeta observed that such actions violate the principles of fairness and impartiality expected in an election.

She noted that recruiting politically aligned individuals could create unnecessary tension among voters and competing candidates.

Chipeta advanced that the electoral body must remain above political influence and serve all stakeholders equally.

She said that the Commission should demonstrate transparency at every stage of staff selection and deployment.

Chipeta affirmed that the people of Chasefu deserve an election process that is free, fair and credible.

She emphasised that poll staff must be chosen on merit, professionalism and neutrality, not political loyalty.

She added that the Commission should resist any move that could compromise confidence in the electoral process.

Chipeta stated that cadres should not be turned into poll staff.

She said that the integrity of the election depended on strict adherence to the law and professional standards.
