Resolute Party Munali Parliamentary Candidate Chrispin Chiinda today joined opposition leaders at a memorial service in Chawama to pay tribute to former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu on the first anniversary of his death.

Chiinda attended the service alongside Tonse Pamodzi Alliance Presidential Candidate President Brian Mundubile and running mate Makebi Zulu.

Several other senior leaders and cadres from the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance were also in attendance.

The memorial service brought together residents of Chawama and opposition leaders who gathered to reflect, pray, and honor the memory of Zambia’s 6th Republican President, who passed away on 5th June 2025 in Pretoria, South Africa.

Chiinda said the event was a moment of unity and national reflection.

“This morning I stood with President Brian Mundubile, running mate Makebi Zulu, and other leaders to honor former President ECL. It reminded us that beyond party lines, Zambia must respect its leaders and uphold our culture of giving dignity in life and in death,” Chiinda said.

President Mundubile and Makebi Zulu also led prayers for the Lungu family during the service.

The Tonse Pamodzi Alliance has consistently called on government and all stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues surrounding President Lungu’s burial and give him a send-off befitting his office.
