PF Pamodzi Alliance Munali parliamentary candidate Chrispin Chiinda has endorsed lawyer Makebi Zulu for President ahead of the 13 August 2026 general elections.
“Fellow citizens, I have chosen to support Makebi Zulu as President. Join us in building a shared future,” Chiinda said in a statement.
Chiinda described Zulu as a “true son of Munali,” referencing the opposition leader’s roots in the Lusaka constituency.
Makebi Zulu, a prominent Lusaka lawyer and former Cabinet minister, served as Eastern Province Minister under President Edgar Lungu from 2016 to 2021.
Zulu formally launched his presidential bid in March 2026, campaigning on constitutionalism, economic recovery, and youth empowerment.
Zambians go to the polls on 13 August 2026 to elect the President, Members of Parliament, and local government leaders. This will be the second general election since the adoption of the 2016 amended Constitution.
Incumbent President Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND is seeking a second term.
Zulu joins a crowded opposition field that includes Socialist Party leader Fred M’membe and New Heritage Party president Chishala Kateka.
Chiinda, contesting the Munali seat under the PF Pamodzi Alliance, said Munali residents want “leadership that understands local challenges and delivers.”
“Munali raised Makebi Zulu. He knows our markets, our schools, our drainage problems. A shared future starts with leaders who come from the community,” Chiinda said.
The PF Pamodzi Alliance is the electoral vehicle for PF-aligned candidates following internal disputes in the former ruling party.
