CITIZENS FIRST PARTY IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE STANDS WITH ZNBC PRESENTER MARGARET CHISULO.

Media release
5/05/2024

Citizens First Party in southern province wish to register it’s opinion over the circulating issue of a ZNBC presenter, Margret Chisulo, and a lozi caller, where they differed due to a language misunderstanding.
Firstly, I would like to define the word “communication” Incase Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa may be interested to know. Communication is the sending and receiving of information. When sending information, the person you’re sending that information to, must be able to understand what you’re saying.
Regarding the issue of Margret Chisulo and the lozi caller, I personally think it could be wrong for us to blame the journalist over her reaction because there was no reason of allowing someone to make a submission in the language that she couldn’t understand because, after commenting on tv or radio, you’ll expect the response. How then was the response going to be given if the panelists and the moderator never understood the contributor’s language?

Let’s not complicate other people’s lives and jobs by accepting to be used by politicians who have failed to deliver on their campaign promises, but always wish to avenge each and everyone they had issues with while in opposition.

As southern province youths of Citizens First Party, we wish to advise Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa and his government that, they have a lot of campaign promises to fulfill, than wasting time on targeting journalist whom they believe are affiliated to those whom they politically don’t agree with.
It is psychologically clear through the quick reaction of Mr Cornelius Mweetwa over this issue that the journalist was trapped in order to have her fired, so that they pave way for their carders to be employed on her place.

We wish to end by challenging Mr.Mweetwa to test the strength of his party (UPND) by stepping down as choma central member of parliament so that we can have a by-election and see if he can win back his parliamentary seat against the Citizens first party and myself (Savewell Hancheka) as a candidate.

Hon.Cornelius Mweetwa must stop playing politics with helpless female journalists, let him face his fellow men in the political arena.

Hancheka Savewell
Citizens First Party youth chairman, southern province.
