The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced that it will officially unveil the 70 newly created constituencies following the conclusion of the national delimitation process.
In a stakeholder notice dated 14th April, 2026, ECZ stated that the announcement will be made on Thursday, 16th April, 2026 at 09:30 hours.
The Commission noted that the event will take place at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) in Lusaka, specifically in the Mosi-oa-Tunya Hall.
According to the notice, the announcement is aimed at informing key stakeholders including political parties, civil society organisations, and faith-based organisations on the outcome of the delimitation exercise and the official introduction of the new constituencies.
ECZ has also extended an invitation to media personnel to cover the event.
The notice was issued by Patricia Luhanga, Corporate Affairs Manager, on behalf of the Electoral Commission of Zambia.
The announcement is expected to significantly shape Zambia’s electoral landscape ahead of the upcoming general elections, as political parties and aspiring candidates prepare for the new constituency boundaries.
