GOV’T READY TO EVACUATE KALABA UPON HOSPITAL’S RECOMMENDATION

Earlier today, Minister of Youth Sport and Arts, Hon. Elvis Nkandu, MP visited former Chipolopolo legend and TP Mazembe midfielder Rainford Kalaba who is hospitalized at the University Teaching Hospital -UTH in Lusaka.

Addressing the media shortly after visiting the former Chipolopolo team captain and 2012 AFCON winner, Hon.Nkandu expressed delight at the steady improvement of Mr Rainford Kalaba.

The minister who was accompanied by his Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sport, Kangwa Chileshe commended the University Teaching Hospital Doctors and staff for the tremendous work done so far in ensuring that Mr Rainford Kalaba is in a stable condition.

He further stated that Government remains fully committed to offering necessary support towards the former Chipolopolo midfielder’s recuperation upon recommendation from the University Teaching Hospital.

He said Government stands ready to evacuate AFCON-winning midfielder Rainford Kalaba for specialized treatment.

Meanwhile, Hon. Nkandu has called on all Zambians to continue praying for the former Chipolopolo Maestro midfielder who is on his path to recovery.
