SERENJE: POLICE NAB ONE FOR INDECENT ASSAULT

Police have arrested a man of Serenje District, Central Province, for indecent assault on a child aged 10.

Central Province Commissioner of Police Charity Munganga confirmed the development to Convergent Freelance Journalist Bangwe Naviley Chisenga.

Ms Munganga said on April 8, 2024, officers in Serenje received a report of defilement involving a 10 year old girl of Kabundi Area in Muchinda Chiefdom, alleging that she was defiled by Hardrick Mulebi of the same area.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police said a ZP medical report form was issued, and the doctor’s findings were inconsistent with the allegation.

Ms Munganga said after further investigations, the suspect was charged with Indecent Assault.

She said Mr. Mulebi is on police bond and will appear in court on tuesday, April 23, 2024.
