President Hakainde Hichilema has concluded his working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and departed Abu Dhabi for Lusaka.
President Hichilema confirmed his departure in a message to Zambians, expressing gratitude to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the people of the UAE for the hospitality extended to him and his delegation.
“We have concluded our working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We are deeply grateful to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the people of the UAE for the warm hospitality extended to us,” Hichilema said.
The President added that he had departed Abu Dhabi for Lusaka and thanked Zambians for their continued prayers and support.

Hichilema’s UAE visit included high-level bilateral engagements with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with discussions focusing on strengthening Zambia-UAE relations, economic cooperation, renewable energy and infrastructure. The two countries also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in support of their economic development priorities.
The engagements also covered ongoing negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Zambia and the UAE, which the two sides said could provide a framework for expanding cooperation between the public and private sectors once concluded.
The working visit formed part of Zambia’s efforts to deepen economic and investment partnerships with the UAE, with President Hichilema previously describing the Gulf nation as a strategic partner in implementing the Grow Zambia Agenda.
The President has now returned to Zambia following the conclusion of the engagements in Abu Dhabi.
