HH TELLS AFRICA TO INVEST IN AGRICULTURE TECHNOLOGY
President Hakainde Hichilema has emphasized the importance of mobilizing capital, appropriate technology, and investing in local fertilizer production on the African continent.
Speaking at the Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit being held in Nairobi, Kenya, President Hichilema says Africa needs to grow its capacity to produce fertilizer using the available raw materials.
He says there is also a need to mobilize capital that is fairly priced, adding that there will be a cost push on fertilizer produced which will disadvantage the farmers.
President Hichilema has since appealed to the leaders attending the summit to come up with recommendations that will address the challenges that have been caused by climate change.
