A 32-year-old woman of Lusaka discovered a head of a baby without its body in a rubbish pit as she went to dispose of garbage this morning.
The head is strongly believed to have been exhumed by dogs from the shallow graves that are used to bury fetus at Chingwere grave site.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the incident occurred around 08:00 hours in Lusaka’s Matero area, identifying the reporter as Beatrice kasaka.
Hamoonga says the scene was visited by Police Scene of Crime officers who found the head.
He says the head was later taken to Chingwere Cemetery where it has since been buried and the site marked awaiting identification and postmortem.
