American superstar Jason Derulo is in Zambia ahead of the highly anticipated Stanbic Music Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Polo Field A in Lusaka.

Derulo touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Friday, October 2, as excitement continued to build among Zambian music fans eager to see the international star perform live.

His arrival was captured by local media, with Mwebantu reporting live from the airport as the singer and performer entered Zambia ahead of his headline performance.

The Grammy-nominated singer is expected to headline what has become one of the biggest entertainment events on Zambia’s calendar, with a line-up that also features several leading Zambian performers.

Zimbabwean singer Tamy Moyo is also scheduled to perform at the festival, giving the event a regional dimension as artists from across Southern Africa share the stage.

Derulo’s appearance has generated considerable interest because of his international profile and catalogue of globally recognised hits, including “Whatcha Say,” “Talk Dirty,” “Wiggle,” “Want to Want Me” and “Savage Love.”

The singer has also built a reputation for combining music with energetic choreography, making his performances particularly suited to large festival audiences.

The Stanbic Music Festival is scheduled to take place at Polo Field A on October 3, with the event expected to attract music lovers from Zambia and beyond. Local reports indicate that the festival is scheduled to run from the afternoon into the evening.

For Zambia’s local music industry, the festival also provides an opportunity for Zambian artists to share a major platform with an internationally established performer.

Tamy Moyo, who is among the artists scheduled to perform, described the opportunity as a chance to showcase Zimbabwean creativity while creating opportunities for regional collaborations.

The festival comes at a time when Zambia’s entertainment industry continues to attract increasingly high-profile international acts, with concerts and music festivals becoming important platforms for collaboration between local and international artists.

For fans, however, the biggest question is likely to be which of Jason Derulo’s biggest songs will make it into Saturday night’s set.

With the international star now in Lusaka, attention has shifted from anticipation to the performance itself, as thousands of music lovers prepare for one of the most talked-about entertainment events of the weekend.
