06-10-2023, LUSAKA…The Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Zechariah Luhanga declares the Ministry of Labour and Social Security a corruption free environment.

At the handover ceremony of education/sensitisation materials that were developed by the integrity committee, Mr. Luhanga commended the committee for its hard work by ensuring that appropriate materials were developed which will be issued to all field stations and headquarters. The materials handed over to the integrity committee include guidelines, the Ministry Service Charter and infographic stickers that address various aspects of corruption prevention and grievance handling procedures.

These resources are designed to assist the committee to accelerate the sensitization drive of prevention and combating corrupt practices within the ministry. He stated that the intervention signals a desire for increased transparency and accountability, which are crucial ingredients for effective functioning of any government institution.

He appealed to members of the public to report any suspected officers to appropriate authorities.

The Acting Permanent Secretary has since directed the committee to ensure that a gift policy is developed before the end of the year.
Mr. Luhanga further stated that, in complimenting the initiative of a call center which the Ministry recently operationalized and the frequently asked questions handbook, suggestion boxes had also been procured which will be placed at headquarters and at provincial offices.
