*MALAWIAN DELEGATION ARRIVE IN ZAMBIA ON SOCIAL PROTECTION EXCHANGE PROGRAMME*
A delegation from Malawi has arrived in the country on an exchange visit to share best practices in the social protection sector.
Areas of discussion will focus on among other things, the GEWEL project, Social Cash Transfer, financing of Social Protection and Shock Response in Zambia, strategies in Disaster management and mitigation and child protection.
On behalf of the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, Permanent Secretary, Ms Angela Kawandami, Director for Community Development, Mrs Patricia Muyamwa together with other directors and Ministry staff were at hand to welcome the delegation.
The delegation comprises, Malawian members of Parliament, experts in social welfare, policymakers, and practitioners eager to share insights on effective implementation of social protection programmes.
The exchange program signifies a significant step towards bolstering global solidarity in addressing social challenges.
Over the coming days, delegates will engage in plenary discussions, site visits, and collaborative sessions with local counterparts, aiming to enrich both the Malawian and the host country’s initiatives to promote social justice.
