THREE Bemba sisters of Lusaka’s George Compound will for the next two weeks miss their neighbourhood gossip sessions as they keep company in jail on account of their foul mouths.

The three sisters namely; Chanda Kangwa, Elizabeth Kangwa and Bwalya Kangwa are reported to be skilled composers of insults which they generously dish out to deserving candidates in their neighbourhood.

However, unable to take their abuse, one traumatised recipient of their insults dragged the insulting tag team to the Matero Local Court.

But as they loitered around the court premises before their actual court room appearance yesterday, the trio bumped into the plaintiff and took the opportunity to drench her into more insults.

With unrivalled fluency, the women offloaded abuse on their victim for dragging them to court and making them miss juicy neighbourhood gossip and repeat Zee World content they missed the previous night due to the protracted loadshedding hours.

Unfortunate for the abuse champions, their loud foul language disrupted a court hearing leading them to be charged with contempt of court.

Before their case could be heard, magistrate Harriet Mulenga ordered that the three be remanded in custody for their immoral behaviour and disrupting court proceedings.

When the matter came up for an explanation on why they should not be punished for contempt of court, the trio vowed not to be insolent towards the court and resorting to use foul language.

Ruling on the matter, magistrate Mulenga said it was unacceptable for litigants to be discourteous towards the Court and fined the three K500 each to be paid before the close of business in default they would be confined for 14 days.

She adjourned the matter to January 19 for hearing.
